Your financial information is sensitive. Protecting it is one of our highest priorities.

Bright Trail Bookkeeping uses defined access, document-sharing, and confidentiality practices to help keep client information secure and limited to the services we provide.

Bright Trail Bookkeeping Security and Confidentiality
HOW WE HANDLE INFORMATION

Our Security Practices

These practices are designed to reduce unnecessary access, protect sensitive information, and establish clear expectations for both Bright Trail Bookkeeping and our clients.

1. Secure Access by Design

We use delegated, accountant-level, or view-only access whenever possible. We do not request or store your primary online-banking passwords.

2. Strong Account Protection

Multifactor authentication is used where supported on the business systems involved in our work.

3. Secure Document Exchange

Sensitive information is not collected through public website forms. Documents are exchanged using approved methods.

4. Limited Access

Access is limited to what is reasonably necessary to provide the agreed-upon services and is reviewed when needs change.

5. Protected Business Systems

Bright Trail uses reputable business systems and follows defined practices for account access, software updates, and information handling.

6. Confidentiality Commitment

Client information is treated as confidential and is not shared outside the delivery of our services without authorization or a legal requirement.

7. Data Retention and Disposal

Information is retained only as needed for business, legal, and tax purposes, then removed or disposed of using appropriate methods.

8. Clear Responsibilities

Client responsibilities, service boundaries, access expectations, and confidentiality terms are documented in the service agreement.

No Primary Passwords. Ever.

For your protection, Bright Trail Bookkeeping will not ask for or store your primary online-banking passwords. When direct connection is required, we will guide you toward the safest access option available.

WORKING TOGETHER

Security Works Best as a Shared Responsibility

Bright Trail follows defined practices, and clients help by using approved sharing methods, protecting credentials, and reporting concerns promptly.

Your Role in Security

You play an important part in keeping information secure and helping the bookkeeping process run efficiently.
